Great tasting Malay food is hard to find in DP. My review:

ABC Restaurant - Malay cooked food so & so only. Fruit juice damn expensive, I think it was RM 4.00 or RM 4.50/glass. Go to Desa Serdang only RM 2/glass.

Nasi lemak review: (must read!)

Wednesday Pasar Malam - The only nasi lemak stall there. Nasi lemak yang sedap but I just thought sometimes a bit pricey with lauk.
One Malay pakcik & makcik stall around flat rakyat DP - You can eat nasi lemak kukus from until malam also can. The nasi is nasi kukus. Everytime you eat the nasi still panas2...Sedappppp...
One Malay pakcik stall bawah Winner Height Condo (a.m.) - Tastes so & so only but the pakcik is a nice fella...
One Malay lady stall near Winner Court (a.m.) - Kadang2 meniaga, kadang2 tak adaaaa...Very authentic taste of nasi lemak & sambal also sedap...
ABC Nasi lemak - Hmmm.....what can I say, tastes so & so only lah, sometimes sambal quite manis

I hope the Pakcik n Makcik can clean up n dress up in a clean bajulah.  Tekak loyalah.  Sorry just my suggestion only lah.

I have revisited the Hometown kopitiam last week and ordered Nasi Lemak with curry chicken. This time it cost $9.90 and increase of $2.00 maybe they need to cover the high set up cost!!. So far the quality is good. However, I tried their fresh watermelon juice. Rating from 1 - 10, I will give a 2. It cost me $4.90 and I took a few sips thats it. Try at your own risk. It dno't have the taste of watermelon at all.

i think they put a lot of MSG on their dishes... because they tastes rather good. BUt at the end of the day, i ended up drinking more water at home due to dehydrations... Cheesy

their hainan white chicken is tasty though. As they used 'village chicken' ( choy yeun gai ).

Food in DP either expensive or tasteless...

Hainan kopitiam - environment is good, price also...
ABC mamak - food ok but expensive also, very poor service, keep on asking customer to order more
Chinese restaurants - I only know 2 in the vicinity, but both also expensive + not nice... same price i eat here, i can order one more dish in tmn conought

I seldom cook at home, I hope there'll be more good food in DP so residents here do not have to worry what to eat anymore

Dear All,

I am not the type who normally complains but yesterday night when I was at ABC restaurant, I ordered a Tandoori Naan and when the Naan was served, it was served with "ANT" and garlic toppings instead of only garlic toppings.

I have also seen the meehoon with "FLIES" or "ANT" in it.

Kindly check your food before eating.

VPSIFU,

was it like 1-2 ants? Or a real topping of Ants??

To be fair to ABC, it could be a human error, an unlucky ant merely fell onto your NAN, and well, that could be the end of the story...

Flies... hmm... that'd be a more difficult one to explain...

Oh, but I'd like to say, that ABC's Roti Canai, & their Tandoori Chicken, is probably among the best I've had...

Desa Petaling got many nice foods actually. There's a famous 'sui gao pan mee' at megan corporate park shoplot near the shell petrol station. Have you guys tried this? It tasted really awesome. The best pan mee i have ever eat. This shop have no name, no signboard. The shop opens in the morning until afternoon i think. I'm not sure until what time. Can someone enlighten me please?  Undecided

The Ramli Burger stall beside the flat, in front of SMK Desa Petaling. Last time i always go there tapao burger coz i stay at the flat there. Nice burger, nicer than mcD in my opinion. hahaha. Now seldom go already coz wanna keep fit. hehehe.  Cheesy

Yea, cowboy steak is nice. Nice and affordable. Their drinks are cheap. I go there yamcha sometimes. But i dont like to sit outside open-air coz got lots of annoying mosquitoes and it's near longkang also, got rats come out scared me!  Shocked

Dear Captain,

I have been in Desa Petaling since 1997 and have been patronising ABC since the same time.

For a loyal customer to say this must mean something. If have seen it on more then one occasion and the next time you guys are out there, just check before eating.

Dear All,

I might be wrong or might be in need of binoculars instead of specs but it would hurt to open the eyes and see what you are eating before you eat it.

Also no harm at looking at the surroundings where the mee and nasi are "goreng"ed !.

You never know and might even be surprised if you find something from the "MEN IN BLACK" movie in there. Grin

Regards,

VPSIFU

Grin i usually preferred to order roti kosong and tomyam from the ABC there.

I know the nasty feeling when we see something foreign in the dishes. I experienced a dead coakcroach in my dishes, but at a different restaurant in San Peng area... :p
