I live in Block 17, the lift always down... sometimes i have to climb more than 10 floor to reach the apartment that i rent.
I have been informed by the management that the lift not functioning due to the residents in the this block did something to the lift,
It might be naughty children poke the lift button, hit the board, pull the wire...(please do not do that)

I plan to move to Block 16, do the block facing the same problem??
My contract will end in July, I am also considering to purchase one if have suitable unit?? May i know the market value?

Lift breakdown is due to maintenance.  WCB is flushed with money as most people who stays there pays the maintenance fee.  Hence, it boils down to the people managing the maintenance in WCB.

The last transaction I saw on iproperty was RM 165000 and is selling like hot cakes.  I asked my relative who is is real estate agent to rent out my unit, but most enquiry was to buy...  So, I think there is currently a very high demand for unit in WCB.

I think RM165000 is depend on how much the owner has renovated the unit, as bank did not value the property that high, the extra cost need to be top up from our own pocket money. To change the floor tile, wire, light, kitchen renovation, there will another 10k to 20k of cost.

For the maintenance issue, no matter how is it? who is that? we are resident here. we hope to see the thing change to be better!

My point is, both block 16 & 17 are maintained by the same person / company at the moment.  In terms of cash, there is more than enough in WCB to take out for the repairs.  The age of the lift in both Block 16 & 17 is the same, so moving to block 16 or vice versa is not the solution, the solution is change the person managing it.... All owners should vote in the next AGM.  Wink

Property price is now going crazy.  6 months ago, our units were hovering around RM 120K - RM 130 K (was around that price since 2000).  Past few months was already advertising for RM 140K - RM 165.  Rental now is around 750 - 800, where previously, max was 700.  I am not surprised if it actually hit RM 165K.  1.5 years ago, when we bought our house, we estimated that it will take at least 5 years to break even, with the renovation put in, but today, 1.5 years later, we have not only break even, but will still make a little profit, should we decide to sell....
